Combined Gut Health Test
The Combined Gut Health Test includes: Yeast metabolites (arabinitol, tartaric acid, citramalic acid), Bacterial metabolites (dopamine-related, serotonin-related), Gluten & Casein derived peptides. This test is useful for checking if bacterial and/or yeast infections are potentially present, which is important for guiding possible intervention options.
Combined Gut Health Test and Autism Screener
The Gut Health Test provides a comprehensive assessment of microbially-derived metabolites commonly elevated in children with autism spectrum disorder and are indicative of abnormal bacteria and yeast. It also provides a measurement of gluten and casein peptides, which if detected suggest that they are not being digested and should be avoided.
The Autism Screening Test is based on the Microbially-Derived Metabolite SystemTM (MDM SystemTM), and reports the number of MDMs which are extremely elevated (above the level of any typically-developing child), including several MDMs not included in the Gut Health Test. A score of one or more extremely-elevated MDMs indicates a positive result. Approximately 85% of children with ASD have a positive score, vs. 0% of typically-developing children. How long will it take to get results? Test results are typically available between 5-15 business days following receipt of the urine sample at our laboratory. Results are typically emailed to parents/carers as a PDF document.
